Gokul Sivasankar Gowri Sankar

Gokul is a PhD student in the Dynamics and Control Research group of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He is being supervised by Dr Chris Manzie (University of Melbourne) and Dr Sridharakumar Narasimhan (IIT Madras).

His research focus is on developing economics-based robust model predictive controller for diesel engines, with an objective to meet desired performance metrics whilst minimising fuel consumption and confining emissions to legislated limits.

Prior to joining The University of Melbourne, he was a Research Associate at the Department of Manufacturing, Science & Technology, Hospira Healthcare India. He was involved in providing technical support focussed on optimization and operational improvement, technology selection and troubleshooting.

Gokul completed his M.S. (by Research) from IIT Madras in 2013 and received his Bachelor’s degree from Anna University in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering in 2010.
